I have just finished the website for Mayfair on the Boulevard, a job I have been dreaming of since I first launched my business. I had noticed that this adorable store didn't have a website, though they have such a great presence on Facebook and Instagram. The problem is that you don't control who sees what on those platforms (those pesky algorithms do), so it's super important to have your own space on the web.
With fear and trepidation, I approached the owner, Rebecca Avant, and asked if she wanted a website. She did! It was truly a delight to build this website. There was so much wonderful material to glean from her social media pages and in no time her new website was live!
I learned a couple new things while building this website. One was how to embed posts from a Facebook or Instagram page onto the website, making it super easy for website visitors to follow those social media platforms as well.
The second was the idea to connect Facebook Messenger to the contact info instead of putting her email out there, reducing the amount of spam she'll receive.
She has an email sign-up where you can get 20% off one item. There are so many lovely items in the store, you're sure to find something you love! Plus you'll get to meet Rebecca, which is a treat all by itself. Visit her website and store today!
I'm so glad you dropped by!
I started this website design business because I LOVE creating websites but I have figured out that not everyone feels the same way. :-)
One of the podcasters I follow closely is Brooke Castillo of The Life Coach School. Brooke has a membership group called Self-Coaching Scholars and in that group she has a class for entrepreneurs. It's amazing!
Brooke says that we all have value to offer the world. She challenges you to figure out what value you personally have to offer.
She says that often the value we have to offer we don't recognize as valuable because it comes so easy to us. That's how I feel about creating websites.
Creating websites comes easily to me. When I take on a new project, I first spend time looking at other websites in the same field. I figure out what works and what doesn't work. I look at my client's Facebook and Instagram pages to get a feel for the personality of their business. I listen to them to find out the purpose of their business and what the reason is that they want a website. Then I put it all together in a website custom-designed for them.
And it's FUN! For me AND for them! It's a win-win.
Do you have a website for your business? Regardless of the size of your business, I think each and every business needs their own space on the web.
I'd love to talk to you about your ideas for your own website. Fill out the contact form and let's talk!
