It is essential that every business, no matter how small, has a website, but a poorly designed website can do more harm than good. There’s a lot that goes into creating a great website, but I’ve limited myself here to the top 3 things that your website needs to make it stand out from your competitors.

Every business, no matter how small, should have a mobile-responsive website. Have you ever walked down a New York City street and seen the number of people using their phone while walking? (Don't do it. It's a good way to get run over.)
Or how about the last time you went to Starbucks? Did you notice how many people were looking at their phones as they drank their Cocoa Cloud Macchiato? The truth is....people use their phones a lot and one of the things those people are doing are looking at websites. These potential customers are asking questions like:
If you have a business, then you solve people's problems one way or another. And when people are searching for an answer to their problem, you don't want to lead them to a website that looks terrible on a phone, because if you do, they'll leave. Here are three reasons why your small business needs to have a mobile-responsive website: What has God gifted you to do? It probably isn’t to build websites. So what is your gift? Leave me a comment and tell me. Seriously. I want to know.
I believe God has gifted me with the passion, skill, and desire to create websites. I love to create them! It gets all my creative juices flowing. Yet assuming that God has gifted you differently than me and that you’ve most likely created a business around your gift, you’re probably here because you know you need a website to share your gift with the world. May I please help you? I’d love to combine our gifts in a way that helps you share your gift. I’ve helped:
Hear me on this...You do not need to learn to create a website. There are better uses of your time. Yet your business does need a website. Let me help. I promise to make it easy for you. Let’s schedule a call this week to discuss your business and figure out the best way for you to share your gift with the world. And don't forget to share your gift in the comments! Title Tags are the MOST important SEO feature on your site!Weebly has done a great job of making it easy for small business owners to create an SEO friendly website that Google will love. You just need to know what information goes where. This guide will show you exactly how to set up one important part of that: how to update the Title Tag in Weebly. The Title Tag is one of the meta tags. It is the text that shows up on the Google search page in blue (though since I've clicked on my link before, it's showing up as purple). Mine currently says Ready Set Go Website Design. That's not ideal though.
It's better to have keywords in your Title Tag, for every page on your website. It doesn't help me to have the name of my business as my Title Tag unless someone is specifically searching for my business. What's better is to have keywords in that Title Tag. Weebly makes it very easy to update your Title Tag. But first, a few things to know about Google. I've just finished the websites for a married couple. Glenda Robinson is one of my good friends from church (she's an amazing organist), plus she is on my doTERRA team. Her husband, David Robinson, has an AMAZING voice. You can listen to samples from his CD on his new website. Check them both out!
My business was just featured on One-Click Lindsey's as one of her 40 Great Small Business Resources! What an honor!
Read the article here: https://rplg.co/e8c8d6e0#https://www.oneclicklindsey.com/40-great-small-business-resources/ I absolutely LOVE figuring out how to add different features into my Weebly websites. One website I finished recently was for a fellow doTERRA friend. She teaches these amazing mini-courses on essential oils and posts those classes on Eventbrite. I figured out how to embed the feed from her Eventbrite profile onto the Learn page of her website. Now visitors can go directly from her website to register for a class on Eventbrite. There's no updating for my friend to do on Weebly. It just automatically updates based on what classes are upcoming on her Eventbrite profile. I can see this feature being useful for my musician friends, estate sale friends, and more! Let me know if you'd like to discuss learning how to tie Eventbrite into your website.
This business is so much fun! I absolutely love helping people, especially friends of mine like Danelle Fortune, create websites to help them launch their new business! It's a win-win. Danelle would have been perfectly capable of creating her own website in Weebly, but she thought it would be easier to have me get it set up and then teach her how to tweak it and update it, so that's exactly what we did.
Click here to visit Fortune ADHD Coaching. Danelle filled out her form and gave me a little direction on what she was looking for by sharing links to other websites she liked. I happened upon the compass image, which she loved, and has now created a logo to match it. It's the perfect image for how she helps students with ADHD get focused and headed in the right direction in school and in life. If you have a middle school, high school, or college student with ADHD that could use some coaching, visit Danelle's website and contact her! And if you need a website for your business, check out my Services page and contact me. :-) I'd love to help you! I have just finished the website for Mayfair on the Boulevard, a job I have been dreaming of since I first launched my business. I had noticed that this adorable store didn't have a website, though they have such a great presence on Facebook and Instagram. The problem is that you don't control who sees what on those platforms (those pesky algorithms do), so it's super important to have your own space on the web.
With fear and trepidation, I approached the owner, Rebecca Avant, and asked if she wanted a website. She did! It was truly a delight to build this website. There was so much wonderful material to glean from her social media pages and in no time her new website was live! I learned a couple new things while building this website. One was how to embed posts from a Facebook or Instagram page onto the website, making it super easy for website visitors to follow those social media platforms as well. The second was the idea to connect Facebook Messenger to the contact info instead of putting her email out there, reducing the amount of spam she'll receive. She has an email sign-up where you can get 20% off one item. There are so many lovely items in the store, you're sure to find something you love! Plus you'll get to meet Rebecca, which is a treat all by itself. Visit her website and store today! https://shopmayfair.weebly.com I'm so glad you dropped by!
I started this website design business because I LOVE creating websites but I have figured out that not everyone feels the same way. :-) One of the podcasters I follow closely is Brooke Castillo of The Life Coach School. Brooke has a membership group called Self-Coaching Scholars and in that group she has a class for entrepreneurs. It's amazing! Brooke says that we all have value to offer the world. She challenges you to figure out what value you personally have to offer. She says that often the value we have to offer we don't recognize as valuable because it comes so easy to us. That's how I feel about creating websites. Creating websites comes easily to me. When I take on a new project, I first spend time looking at other websites in the same field. I figure out what works and what doesn't work. I look at my client's Facebook and Instagram pages to get a feel for the personality of their business. I listen to them to find out the purpose of their business and what the reason is that they want a website. Then I put it all together in a website custom-designed for them. And it's FUN! For me AND for them! It's a win-win. Do you have a website for your business? Regardless of the size of your business, I think each and every business needs their own space on the web. I'd love to talk to you about your ideas for your own website. Fill out the contact form and let's talk! |
